Top Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe who was the center referee in tonight’s game involving Belgium and Canada the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar made the country proud.

Belgium won the match by a goal to nil.

The Zambian national team, Chipolopolo may not have qualified for the tournament, but Sikazwe represented the team well as, he executed his duties very well and had complete control of the match.

At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he also took charge of a match involving Belgium and Panama which was his debut at the global showpiece.

The match also saw him going into the record books as he became the first Zambian referee to officiate a game at the FIFA World Cup finals.

The man from Kapiri Mposhi was also the center man in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Final in Gabon becoming the first Zambian to do so.

Sikazwe was last year picked as one of only two center referees from Africa to officiate at the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup.

Sikazwe seems to have recovered well from the previous AFCON setback, where he hogged the limelight for the wrong reason.

He blew the final whistle twice before 90 minutes in a match between Tunisia and Mali.
