The government of Zambia is this year expected to carry out a special audit in the usage of constituency development fund (CDF).

Local Government Minister Mr Vincent Mwale observes that the fund has not benefited the intended recipients and has since directed the Anti-Corruption Commission to follow up the distribution of the CDF to ensure it is allocated to the rightful beneficiaries.

Speaking during the official handover of hammer mills recovered from a corruption related case to Ministry Of Local Government For Chisamba District Council, Mr MWALE further called for the quick disposal of corruption cases that have been under investigation for a long time.

Mr Mwale further says the recovery of the hammer mills in a case of abuse of authority of office and theft involving the Former Chisamba Member of Parliament Moses Muteteka builds confidence in members of the public on the execution of corruption cases by the ACC.

and ACC Deputy Director General Rosemary Khuzwayo said the commission in 2012 swung into action when it commenced investigating a corruption case of alleged abuse of office regarding the purchase of six hammer mills at K150 million by the Chibombo District Council using CDF where the hammer mills were recovered.
