Zimbabwean dies in Shiwang’andu road carnage

A Zimbabwean national has died on spot in a road traffic accident in Shiwang`andu district after an unregistered Toyota Honda Fit he was driving collided with exploded with an approaching vehicle before exploding.

Muchinga Province Deputy Police Commissioner, Bonny Kapeso, confirmed the accident in an interview in Shiwang`andu today.

Mr Kapeso said the accident happened in the early hours of today, 3km away from Kalalantekwe, when the unidentified Zimbabwean driver failed to keep to his left side and hit into an oncoming truck.

The Deputy Police Commissioner further said the unregistered vehicle exploded living the deceased burnt to death.

He said the unidentified truck driver, suspected to be a Tanzanian national, who was driving the truck of horse registration number T121 ARS and trailer registration number T741 ATQ, is on the run.

The body of the deceased   has since been taken to Chinsali District Community Hospital mortuary.
