Togolese player Emmanuel Matias

ZESCO United has signed Togolese player Emmanuel Matias on a short-term loan deal.

Matias is set to join from South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns, together with Chipolopolo defender Hichani Himoonde.

Matias linked up with Zesco over the weekend in Sekondi, Ghana, en route to Zambia after the Ndola
club’s 2014 CAF Confederation Cup engagement against Ghana club Medeama.

“We have a partnership with Sundowns and they asked us if we could accommodate the player
from six months to one year,” said Zesco Utd CEO, Justin Mumba.

And Mumba revealed that Zambia defender Hichani Himonde is due to finally arrive to start his loan spell at Zesco from Sundowns on March 21.

“Hichani didn’t have match fitness so they had to keep him in South Africa for a while and he is
joining the team on Friday. I can also confirm that their International Transfer Certificate’s are done and
the registration have been done,” Mumba said.

Himonde joined Sundowns in January from DR Congo club TP Mazembe buthas been loaned out to Zesco together with Matias after The Brazilians exceeded their foreign quota.
