ZESCO United are the 2015 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield champions after beating Power Dynamos at Kitwe’s Nkana Stadium this afternoon.

Zesco United’s first chance fell to forward Jackson Mwanza who broke through on the right flank but could not get past Dynamos defender White Mwanambaba in the 18th minute.

A minute later Mwanza thought he had won a penalty but referee Wellington Kaoma booked the striker for simulation.

Zesco United finished the first half stronger but it was Power Dynamos who emerged with purpose for the second half as they searched for an early equaliser.

Thomas Nyirenda and Alex Ng’onga had good chances in the opening three minutes but they went begging.

Despite Dynamos’ pressure it was Odiambo who once again broke the hearts of the Ndeke-based outfit’s faithfuls with a powerful header from a corner delivered by John Ching’andu.

Alex Ng’onga pulled a goal back in the 77th minute from the penalty spot but a minute later defender Billy Mutale kicked the ball into his own net as he attempted to clear Ching’andu’s cross into the area
