ZESCO salutes traditional leaders

Zambia’s success in the electricity subsector is not attributed not only to sound policies but also to the goodwill of traditional leaders who are custodians of the land where power projects are built.

Recognizing the vital role traditional leaders and communities play in its mandate, ZESCO Limited has incorporated culture preservation into its Corporate Social Responsibility activities.

“National development cannot be realized without culture,” said Patricia Musiya, Director Human Capital Development at ZESCO.

“Culture and development go hand in hand, and both must be protected and preserved.”

She was speaking at the commemoration of the 2025 Samu Lya Moomba Traditional Ceremony, held on October 5, 2025, at Chief Coongo Area in Monze district, where ZESCO was a proud sponsor.
