ZCID-PF led Summit goes ahead without UPND

The Summit for the political parties organised by ZCID has gone ahead without the participation of the main opposition, UPND.

THe event has attracted some small political parties such as the one for Alex Muliokela, among others.

Chishimba Kambwili’s NDC, Tilyenji Kaunda’s UNIP and the Felix Mutati’s MMD are among the opposition political parties taking part.

And Sean Tembo who heads a political party called PeP and is in the board of ZCID says the turn up is good and has attracted some stakeholders such as the church and civil society.

“As ZCID, we are happy that out of 200 invited guests from political parties, traditional leaders, the church, civil society and other stakeholders, 174 (about 90 percent) honored the invitation yesterday. We are yet to ascertain the attendance for today, but we expect it to be higher than yesterday,” stated Tembo.

The UPND has vowed to make the exercise an academic by ensuring that the resolution are shoot down in Parliament when brought during constitution amendments.

UPND wants the dialogue to be facilitated by Commonwealth and chaired by the Church Mother Bodies.
