Zambia’s journey at 2023 AFCON ends

Zambia’s journey at the ongoing 2023 TotalEnergies U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has ended after 2- 1 defeat to Tunisia.

Tunisia scored before the breakthrough by Jebral Othman in the 30th minute who headed from a well worked out corner.

Zambia scored an equalizer 12 minutes after the break through with Kingstone Mutandwa but within a minute, Tunisia took the lead through Mohamed Dhaoui with a beautifully taken strike from the edge of the 18 yard area.

Tunisia join the Gambia and Benin in the quarterfinals while Zambia takes the next flight back home following their group stage elimination.

The 2017 AFCON champions have not impressed in their three group games but yesternight’s display was much better than the previous two first games.
