It is rare for a hero to be honoured while still living, however, that is not the case with the country’s founding father, Dr Kenneth Kaunda, who is being celbrated while he is still alive.

The first President’s family has endorsed a Zambian filmmaker to make a movie about him.

The movie is expected to attract a list of actors to document Zambia’s founding father’s life.

Family Spokesperson Kaweche Kaunda says the family has turned down offers from foreign filmmakers because they want it to be a privilege of a Zambian filmmaker.

Kaunda says Frank Kasonde approached the family for their blessings and they have given him the liberty to document an educative and insightful piece.

He is hopeful that the movie will capture a truthful representation of Dr Kaunda’s life.

The Zambian filmmaker has been doing his research for years and is hoping to start the film making soon. -ZNBC
