The late Sikwebela Malitela

The Zambian Eye team would like to acknowledge and thank the Zambians based in Czech Prague who have suffered traumatizing, agonizing days and nights trying to reach the relatives of the late gentleman Sikwebela Malitela who died in Czech Republic and finally making the Zambian Government rescind its decision not to help.

Your efforts to spread the word, keeping in touch with the father of the deceased and launching fundraising campaigns in order to bring the body back home.

The Zambians abroad who have contributed so much to make this happen and the locals some literally that had gone to government offices, Ministers’ homes, and in fact more-or-less ambushing the Ministers’ and Members of Parliament before entering Parliament to make them understand what it means to have a government.

We may not have all the names but the following people are the ones that were involved locally: Felix Ngoma, Osborn Madiba Mutapa, Peter Mpande, Isaac M Mwanza, Katele Jackson Jones, Tobias Caesar M, Ask Aunt Tina Banda, Blessed Masonga Ngoma, Malcom Gongs Jhala, Faith prospelina, Charis Florence Besa, Fiona Inutu Kubakwasa, Thabo Salma T-bowz, and many more who banded, caucused, conjoined and associated with members of the Diaspora to speak with one voice.

This task was borne on shoulders of the following people living abroad; Mueti Moomba, Gershom Ndhlovu, Larry Mweetwa, Masheke Akashambatwa, Sidique Abdullah Gondwe Geloo, Saboi Imboela, Comrade Daaram Simakungwe, KC NtimpaProud Aushi/Ushi Musamba Mumba, Chillien Dee, Saboi Yetah Davids, Nathan Nkhama, Kaya B Mwansa, Rodger Chali, Hon Kasololo Chisenga, Chileya Bana Chantalle Anklam, Andrew-Knox B Kaniki, Suman Patel, Derek-D-roc Mitti, Samoyed Cloe, Lubinda Mbundi, Zambia Blog Talk Radio, Nicholas Mutalama, Clotilda Ng’andu Chloe Simooya, Elliot Munsanje and Crossfire Blog Radio and the entire Diaspora fraternity who put their time, spent sleepless nights and money especially for this cause.

Thank you, thank you and thank you. You are all that is right about Zambia! You have proved that you are a force to rekon with. May God richly bless you and give you more days to live so that together we can make our country better.

  5. Not under the best of circumstances but this is what concerted resolve by a caring people for a common goal or cause can achieve. While the remains will come and be put to rest in the land and free the spirit may the Lord grant loads of His grace to all who worked hard to attain this feat. God Bless you all and truly the family will find greater solace and peace.
