Zambia records one COVID-19 case, baby discharged

The Ministry of Health said the country has recorded 1 new coronavirus case in the last 24 hours from 785 tested samples.

This brings to 138, the total number of confirmed cases in Zambia. Active cases have now reached 43.

Meanwhile, 14 patients have recovered and been discharged from Isolation Facilities in the last 24hrs. This brings the total number of recoveries to 92.

The ministry also disclosed that the baby that has been in an isolation centre has also been discharged.

“The youngest COVID-19 patient (at 3 months old) who was admitted in the Levy Mwanawasa Isolation Facility has been discharged,” said the ministry.

Meanwhile, according to the World Health Organisation African Region over 46 500 coronavirus cases have been recorded on the continent, with more than 1 800 associated deaths.
