Zambia reaches deal to restructure over $3.5 billion with Eurobond holders

Zambia has reached an agreement with the Eurobond holders to restructure over $3.5 billion of its external debt.

Government has for the last 2 years been in constant negotiations with the Euro-bondholders to restructure the over $3.5 billion debt.

Making the announcement on his Facebook page, President Hakainde Hichilema said that the deal was done and thanked Zambians for the patience during the process.

“Now that this is done, economic recovery is back on track”, posted President Hichilema.
