Zambia maintains its new found winning ways, beat Congo in a World Cup qualifier

Zambia, the Chipolopolo Boys maintained their new found wining way in a World Cup qualifier campaign Friday evening against Congo Brazzaville, reports Martha Banda for Zambian Eye.

The Chipolopolo Boys beat Congo Brazzaville 4 – 2 to see them win a six goal thriller.

English League Zambian Striker Patson Daka scored twice in the fifth and later 90th minute to secure the Chipolopolo Boys the much needed two points.

The Visitors who had leveled the scoreline in the first half scored first in the 13th minute through Silvere and two minutes later through Mons Bassouamina to take an early lead.

But three minutes to halftime, the Chipolopolo Boys leveled the scoreline through Lameck Banda.

Another deadly Zambian Striker Fashion Sakala put the Chipolopolo Boys ahead in the 69th minute.

Daka came to seal the win on the 90th minute to see the Chipolopolo Boys end the game on 4 – 2 scoreline.

This has given a boost to the Chipolopolo Boys who will be playing away to Niger on 21st November 2023. Zambia has never played at the World Cup since the inception of the world’s biggest soccer event.

Sixth president Edgar Lungu joined hundreds of Supporters to cheer the team at Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola on the Copperbelt.
