Chipolopolo, UgandaZambia has dropped four places to number 50 on the latest FIFA rankings released on January 8.

Chipolopolo dropped from 46 to 50 to end a two-month rise that began in October and that saw them jump thirty-two places in a space of 60 days.

The drop also sees Zambia fall out of the CAF top ten from 10th and down one notch to 11th.

Mali replaces Zambia as the 10th placed side in Africa and are at number 49 in the World.

Zambia’s drop came after last Sunday’s 1-0 away loss to Bafana Bafana in a friendly played at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.

Bafana, though, stand still at number 52 despite that win and are 12th in Africa.

Meanwhile, Zambia’s 2015 Africa Cup Group B opponents Tunisia stay put at 22nd in the World and second in Africa while Cape Verde also stand still in seventh position in CAF and 40th in the World.

DR Congo fall one place from 56 to 57 on the FIFA charts are are 13th in Africa.

  1. Serves them right.. How can they be losing to Bafana Bafana a team which has never qualified for AFCON since 2008?

  2. Let us get our facts right guys. The South Africa Vs Zambia match
was not on a FIFA official date so it does not have any bearing on the January 2015 rankings.

When players are vying for places in the final team, they normally avoid getting injured. This was the case in that match.

Wait until we meet South Africa at the tournament in a few weeks.
Boy how I wish I could see your faces then!
