Zambia buys 18 Marverick Anti-riot Vehicles

Inspector general of police Kakoma Kanganja has confirmed that a total of 18 Marverick Anti-riot Vehicles have been procured for the Zambia Police Service.

Mr. Kanganja has told diamond news that this shall be facilitated through a contract between the Ministry Of Home Affairs through the Ministry Of Finance on behalf of the Zambia Police service.

He adds that he cannot disclose the amount attached to the procurement of the vehicles as he is currently out of the country.

Mr. Kanganja says the two types of vehicles will be deployed in the service to be used by the paramilitary and mobile unit, while the other will be used for general riot situations.

He says Zambian police officers have started undergoing training on the use and maintenance of the vehicles in South Africa.

  1. Instead of equipping the farmers, you are busy equipping for riots. Are you foreseeing riots ahead. Lets look at the plight of the citizen first,what benefit are we going to get from riot vehicles. Unless you are telling us there is something you are seeing in front which will bring riots. Just control the economy and you will see that there is no need to waste money on riot vehicles, coz you will be a darling to the citizens. But if you punish the citizens with hunger, you will always be afraid of your own shadow. Give farmers agricultural equipment not always thinking how to harm your own people. i rest my case
