Zambia’s only Airline, Zambia Airways will on Thursday, 27th June 2024 start to fly to neighbouring Tanzania which is one the country’s link to the ocean.
Zambia’s Deputy High Commissioner to Tanzania Anthony Bwalya has confirmed the development which he has described the day as a monumental for the national airline.
According to a statement issued by the airline on the 13th of May 2024, Zambia Airways is due to undertake its inaugural flight into Dar Es Salaam and Nairobi this week on Thursday.
“This is not just about moving people of various nationalities, connecting from various destinations around the world and traveling for an entire host of reasons; this is a mammoth opportunity for us to intensify efforts to market our country to a truly global audience by capitalizing on what is a very busy, rapidly expanding and promising market space – the east African corridor,” Bwalya said.
Bwalya says every seat on the aircraft must tell the Zambian story, from tourism attractions to investment opportunities, and anything and everything that makes the country what it is.
“Also of note, is that this great opportunity places a massive responsibility on us to ensure that our services are competitive across the board – particularly in terms of quality and warmth of service, constantly engaging our customer base.
And when it does come to pass, its karibuni Dar Es Salaam Zambia Airways, The New Wings of Africa,” he said.
