Woman in cells for abortion

A 27 year old woman of Chandamali Compound in Choma district Southern Province have been arrested for unsafe abortion.

Woman identified as Farnet Hamibilo aborted her four months pregnancy for unknown reasons and deposited the fetus into an unfinished building.

The incident is believed to have happened between 10 and 11th February, 2023.

Hamibilo was reported to police by the neighbor who saw her with flat tummy and there was no sign of miscarriage.

The suspect was arrested and is still in police custody.
