President Edgar Lungu says government is ready to return the social cash transfer demanded by some donors.
Speaking to journalists at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on arrival from New York today, President Lungu says government will pay back all the donors that are claiming for refunds.
He says it is their money and government has no option but to give it back.
Meanwhile, President Lungu has described the 2019 National Budget as ‘spaka’ implying that the document is excellent.
He challenged critics to come up with an alternative budget if they so wish.
The Head of State was in New York to attend the 73rd United Nations General Assembly under the theme “The Sustainable Development Goals: A Universal Push to Transform our World.”
