We will not vote for PF here, Kitwe residents tell Nevers

Nevers in KitweMarketeers at Kitwe’s Chisokone market May 22 in the afternoon mobbed MMD president Nevers Mumba when he toured the market.

And some taxi drivers in Kitwe have expressed regret for having voted for the Patriotic Front in the 2016 general elections.

The drivers complained to Dr Mumba of being treated like slaves under the PF government.

They said the PF is demanding a lot from them amid the high cost of fuel prices and cost of living.

“We don’t know whether we voted for dictatorship or a democratic government that cares for the people. As things stand the PF government has subjected us to slavery conditions and we regret voting for them.”

“This is the last time we are voting for the PF here in Kitwe, they will not get any of our votes in 2016.”

And Dr Mumba said the concerns of the marketers and the tax drivers are lessons to Zambians not to vote for people who do not know how to govern a country.

He said the PF was voted into office based on fake promises and lies which the people of Zambia are able to see for themselves now.

“The MMD should be voted back into office because you know how the MMD is concerned about the plight of the Marketeers and the tax drivers, Dr. Mumba told the group that mobbed him”.

Meanwhile, Dr Mumba said he is in Kitwe to listen to the concerns of the people as he mobilizes the party for the 2016 general elections.

“The mood is very depressing when people explain what they are going through, the problem we have in Zambia is that we have a government that raised the hopes of Zambians when promises were made that Zambians will have money in their pockets which is not in reality now and the opposite is true” people are now losing Jobs,” Dr Mumba said.

He added, “When you access the three years that PF has been in Government, people are depressed because their hopes are deflected  and that is why they are looking around for people to raise their hopes and MMD is the new hope for Zambia, “Dr Mumba said.

Dr Mumba is also in Kitwe to get the views of the people so that they can be included in the party’s working manifesto for the 2016 general elections.

  1. Good move Dr Mumba. This goes to show that, you can do politics without violence. You can also listen to suffering pipo, rather than it’s only politicians who speak to the people most of the time.this is bringing civility to our Zambian politics.VIVA MMD,VIVA NEVERS.New MMD-the NeW HOPE FOR ZAMBIA.

    • Dr Mumba, only pipo who may not like(Usually with their preferred candidate) you will always not agree with your views, which most of the time are right views and that is what Zambia needs for now.

  3. Dr Mumba, you are the unifying factor for Zambian Politics.Zambia is bleading, tribal differences at the increase, bitterness, vindictiveness etc.Zambia needs you to Unite the nation, bring healing and forgiveness, remove hatred, bitterness and vindictiveness.Above all Zambia needs a Compassionate leader,of high moral values with integrity.God give us a man/Leader after your Own Heart.

  4. pf knows dr mumba is not a factor that is why they dont send cadres to harrass him ask hh or nawakwi they will tell you viva upnd viva hh copperbelt. just take your breath upnd is now coming full time as you have heard. be ready for change not what you voted for be carefull now

    • Blackbull, you only fight fellow fighters/rogues.Why should you send unrully cadres to a person who does not embrace violence?it’s a waste of time.Go Nevers,Go.Let the fighters/rogues fight each other.Ulubuli fiko. When the unrully cadres come to Dr Mumba, they will look out of place.Because no one will entertain them with similar violence.Remember the UPND said, they’ll start armimg themselves. In New MMD of Hope,we don’t arm ourselves with offensive weapons, but reason prevails.

    • Blackbull, remember that even when it was seen that PF was making an impact with false promises,MMD never sent cadres to harass him.Sata campaigned freely. So it’s just logical for PF also to reciprocate in the same civil manner not to send unrully cadres also.PF cadres knows who to go and make noise to.Members who’re recruited through violent also come to behave the same in future. The William ‘Tekere’ Banda characters. You’ll see what will happen as we go towards 2016.

  5. i dont know whether you belong to mmd a or mmd b anyway that is still politics

    May 23, 2014 at 7:30 pm

    • Blackbull, here is not whether one belongs to MMD or Not,but it’s about observation. What ever was done before when PF was in opposition was noticed by pipo. They can compare what PF is now doing as a ruling party.Violence breeds violence especially to pipo who do not have restraining values or moral character within them. That is why with Dr Mumba with a strong Church background would not return evil for evil like what the UPND wanted to return evil(pangas) for evil(pangas). This attitude is not good for Zambia. Now Zambia needs a Leader who will break this circle prone for violence.

  7. Naimwe bene ba Zambian eye should learn to put things into perspective. The correct headline should have been “We will not vote for PF here, SOME Kitwe residents tell Mumba.” As it is you are making it seem like the entire Kitwe wont vote for PF. Those are just your wishes

  8. Maybe Dr Mumba can salvage the MMD. As far as some of us are concerned MMD had its chance. MMD’s last days were not inspiring. That is why people voted for PF believing the promises made. Now with MMD and PF records Zambians must look elsewhere.

Do not twist facts. UPND is not a violent party just like NAREP and FDD. The statement was made in light of constant attacks and harassment by PF cadres and police for exercising its democratic rights. Bullies should not be allowed to continue harassing people. Copperbelt residents feel more comfortable when spoken to in cibemba. We know that. Dr Mumba is an upright person but the MMD party…. I can see Dr Jere becoming Inspector General of Police as a reward for playing his music on ZNBC in place of announcement of election results in 2011!! Just Imagine that…

Remember that KK and UNIP was forced to abandon the non-violence stance due to increased violence by the colonial government. I still believe Zambians should give a chance to other parties which have not been in power before.

    let me say this.................
