Hakainde Hichilema today January 10, 2015 got annoyed and warned Edgar Lungu after his supporters were assaulted by the ruling party – PF cadres in Lusaka, reports Zambian Eye Correspondent.

T-shirtsThe cadres who were clad in the party’s regalia were beaten leaving them with scares on their faces and heads. The Cadres who were attacked were brought before cameras at HH’s rally in Mtendere.

Reacting to the violence, Hichilema who is the United Party for National Development (UPND) president warned the ruling party’s president Lungu that he will not be allowed to ascend to the presidency of Zambia using pangas

The emotionally touched opposition leader told the crowds that turned up for his rally that Lungu won the PF presidency using pangas and is trying to get the republican presidency using the same method. Hichilema vowed that he will not allow Lungu to get the presidency using pangas.

Hichilema explained that recently his supporters and officials have been attacked by thugs he says were supporters of Lungu. He cited the incidence in Shiwang’andu where a helicopter carrying UPND campaign team that included former First Lady Maureen Mwanawasa, former Deputy of National Assembly who is the UPND National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango, MPs – Flex Mutati and Mucheleka was attacked sparking a riot in the area where the MP is a Deputy Minister in-charge of Internal Security. Hichilema said just this week he and his supporters were attacked at Mongu Airport.

The UPND leader charged the PF will not be allowed to butcher innocent Zambians who have a right belong to a political party of their choice. Hichilema said the PF should face him and not harass his supporters.

Hichilema said in the last three years of the PF reign he has been detained seven times. He said he will not be intimidated by the PF. He said the PF has taken away the rights of Zambians and this need to be changed on January 20.

With a few days remaining before the country holds a special presidential election to replace Michael Sata who died in October 20, 2015 there have been clashes by supporters of the two front runners.

The former First Lady has asked the United Nations to intervene saying the institutions that are supposed to keep law and order have broken down.

  2. We will certainly not allow Edgar Lubgu to get to state house using pangas. What worked in Zimbabwe for the dictator Mugabe will not work here.

  6. Let every peace loving Zambian vote for HH on 20 January to bring an end to the PF violence because this can lead to war when people are intimidated to express their rights in a nation. Hakainde is the most rightful solution to Zambia’s problems at the moment. It could be true that he is a Freemason but that is of little concern. The fact is that most of the respected and renowned leaders in the world are Freemasons and are not necessarily Satanists. PEOPLE NEED EDUCATION ON THIS.

  16. Why always beaten kanshi? It showa that UpND are minority. Fighting is also a game of numbers synonymous with voting. The way you are being beaten is the same way they will beat you even in elections. Efyo iya. Its real. What other sign are you waiting for? Ati violence. You call this violence? Count your blessings

    • @ Wisdom,
You are just dull.UPND can fight back. It is UPND’s strategy not to fight back so that normal people can hate PF forever and Vote it out on 20 January.
