The United Party for National Development has said that the burden of proof lies with PF President Edgar Lungu to convince the nation that he is well.

UPND Vice President for Politics Canisius Banda has said that his party is not convinced that Mr. Lungu is fit owing to a medical report it has seen which indicates that he allegedly suffers from a kidney problem.

Speaking during a media briefing this morning, Dr. Banda said that this is why UPND president Hakainde Hichilema is challenging Mr. Lungu to a debate on national issues ahead of the 2015 presidential election.

He said that it is during this same debate that his party wants Mr. Lungu to explain why he wants the people of Zambia to elect him president when he is allegedly not fit.

Dr. Banda said that the UPND further wants Mr. Lungu to explain why he is allegedly repeating the same campaign promises Mr. Hichilema has been making to the Zambian people.

And Dr Banda has disclosed that his party has information that a white unregistered mini bus is headed to Southern province with the intentions of causing violence.

He said that on this alleged bus which is being manned by foreign nationals from Congo and Rwanda there is a total sum of K500, 000 and some unknown weapons.

Dr. Banda said that once this mini bus arrives in the province today, it is believed that the foreign nationals will then begin dishing out this money to people who will be sent to beat up anyone wearing UPND attire.

He said that his party further has information that there is another Mazda registration No. ALH 393 that is also headed to Western province on a similar mission.

Dr. Banda has further disclosed that his party has information that some Defence Chiefs are allegedly asking military personal to vote for the PF candidate in the forthcoming election.

  1. UPND Vice President for Politics Canisius Banda has said that his party is convinced that since Mr. Edgar Lungu has a kidney problem he will die in two years and thereby cause another bye election.
This is out of a genuine fear that UPND wont be able to defeat Lungu at the forthcoming bye elections.
Clearly showing his desperation at losing next month’s election Banda who is sworn to the hippocratic oath since he is a medical doctor told reporters he has medical documents showing Lungu has a kidnel ailement.
Prophet Canisius Banda went further to challenge Lungu and the PF to prove that Edgar will live into the next term.
“You PF people should stop troubling us. You know we cant win elections.sob, sob, weep, you will win these elections, sob sob, Just let us rule instead of putting us through another bye election” Prophet Banda told reporters.

  3. Dr Banda is Right! This is public interest justification to breach confidentiality especially when a Defence minister is showing serious levels of organic mental lapses due to I’ll health! Mr Lungu has already put this country in dander by his recent desperate errands to rogue states to seek not only financial help but to recruit thugs as revealed by our learned colleague!
Patient information may be disclosed in the public interest!
Politics aside, a full investigation must start now!
Mr Lungu has a lot of explaining to do!
Let him tell us what he has been doing each time he sneaks out of the country!!!

    • There’s no such thing. It’s never a doctor who reveals a patient’s records unless subpoenaed in court. BANDA has put his political interests above the patient’s rights. How many UPND members suffer from erectile dysfunction? We the voters should be interested in that so can Dr Banda reveal the records so we can know which party is not contributing to national growth?

      • I want to agree with Mr Jurisprudence here. Dr Banda is one of the most publicly informed Medical doctors we have in this country! I want to believe he is not just politicking cheaply here! I have personally known him and I don’t think he is one person who shys away from putting his neck on the chopping board when there is a serious matter of national interest.

A lot of serious allegations have been brought forward and rather than equate national security threats to erectile dysfunction, we need to put our emotions and differences aside and see what threatens our very existence as a nation! Responsible Doctors have the obligation to protect public interest when serious breaches are observed like in the recent conduct of public affairs.

My interaction with a number of our doctors reveals that Edgar is not enjoying good health and that Zambians risk another state funeral by trying to sound politically correct! The second worry from doctors is that with all the stigmata of Renal disease they can see, Edgar is bound to suffer from diminished responsibility as a result of the biochemical insults to his brain. This is evidenced by the chain of illegalities he has been engaged in of late like sneaking out of the country in his full capacity as Defence and Justice minister.

I call upon all Zambians who love their country to put all emotions and differences aside and investigate these allegations carefully. The first rule when carrying out investigations is to avoid jumping to conclusions! All caring citizens should be alert and report all suspicious activities to police! We have been forewarned and therefore forearmed!

  7. As UPND, it is important to mobilise and ensure that those things hired by PF whether from Rwanda, Angola or Timbukutu or wherever from are lynched with the mightiest force so they regret having been hired. Diplomacy will not work with PF. Let them be taught a big lesson this time. It’s just too much of this pamusula party.

  9. Dr. Banda:

In your quest for power, you are about to destroy yourself.
    What a loss!

You know what it means for a medical doctor to betray the confidence of a patient—any patient, laborer or president—and I’m not even saying Mr. Lungu is a patient.

You are an enemy of all the trusted medical doctors of this world.

Ba Banda uyu umusebanya mwalaleta in a highly respected profession will backfire right in your face.

After this election, not even Mr. Hakainde will be able to trust you; especially if the presidential running mate clause is enacted.

I would personally advise you to apologize to the people of Zambia and the medical fraternity before it is too late. Trust me Dr. Banda, I mean well.

    God bless you all.

    • Sir, you may be missing something here. A coin has two sides and not just one. As much as doctors are required by law to uphold patient confidentiality, the same law requires them to breach confidentiality in matters where individual or public safety is in imminent danger like in the case of the series of Gross Misconduct by our minister of Defence and Justice that threatens our national security! As a Lawyer he should know that he needs to step down from those ministerial positions according to Article 65 (2) if he wants to roam freely as a candidate. Unfortunately it is the issues of bread and butter coupled with diminished personal responsibility and subtle impairment at play!
The trouble we have as a country is we have few citizens as observant and courageous as Dr Banda!

The trouble again is Most of our citizens are naive, complacent and emotional wrecks without insight and foresight and always reactive instead of being proactive!

Is it too much alcohol that is taking away good judgement from our citizens?

In short if you didn’t migrate from there then we can safely say you not Bemba. Now read your history and then count how many of our tribes came from the north – The Kola. That is why it is easier for those tribes to associate and interact including understanding each others languages. It’s not by design but by nature so learn to live with it.VIVA LUNGU in both sickness and health.
