Infrastructure Development Minister Ronold Chitotela says government will work on the deteriorated Mazabuka-Kafue Road upto Monze.

Chitotela said the PF government is still organising money not only to do the road from Turnpark upto Mazabuka but Monze. He said contrary to assertions the PF government has not neglected the people of Southern province.

Asked to state when the works would begin, Chitotela said he is hoping that the whole processes of tendering should be done by end of 2019. This means that working on this road will only begin in 2020.

But Chitotela says in the interim Inyati is working on patching the road and will cover a distance of 15 kilometres.

Contrary to what Chitotela is saying there are no signs of works or there is no contractor patching up the road hence the outcry from the people.

Chitotela was speaking this evening on ZNBC’s Sunday Interview programme monitored by Zambian Eye.

  2. If Mr Chitotela wants to start re-constructing the Tarnpark- Monze Road in 2020, what can stop people from speculating that the PF wants to turn the road into a political campaign like the other Roads that I know about especially in Northwestern and Western Provinces?

  3. Just rip up the road surface and turn it into gravel at least the traveling public to the south will be a little safer than the current situation!
