The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says that voting will continue today January 21, 2015 in about 51 polling stations in Zambia’s presidential election, .

Voting at a number polling stations failed mainly due to the torrential rains that delayed the delivery of election materials and dispatching of man power to the station.

The bad weather has greatly delayed the delivery of elections materials and manpower, ECZ Public Relations manager Chris Akufuna told journalists at the Mulungushi Conference Center in Lusaka.

In Kaputa constituency, voting failed to take off at three polling stations in Kaputa district after the ECZ in the district failed to dispatch man power and election material to the area.

Kaputa District Electoral Officer, Patson Kapoba who confirmed the development in an interview with ZANIS said ECZ failed to send staff and election materials as the area was not passable by road.

Kapoba who is Kaputa District Council Secretary named the areas where voting has not started as Chonganya in Kalungwishi ward, Kapasha in Chiyilunda ward and Mataka in Kaleulu ward.

He said he had informed the ECZ on the development who had promised to send a chopper to ferry electoral staff and materials to the affected areas.

Voting had still not started by 09:00 hours but Kapoba remained hopeful that the ECZ would send a chopper with electoral staff and materials.

  3. If people are still voting ,why are results being transmitted? That is definitely going to influence the voting outcome, isn’t it?

If the current voting pattern continues, then it is unfortunate because anything or anyone irregardless of the candidate’s ability to deliver will be voted in because he or she is supported by certain regions.I can guarantee you Zambia will miss out on quality leadership and progress.
Whether lungu is going to provide that leadership or not,it’s not up us to decide BUT TIME WILL TELL COS’TIME HAS A WAY OF SORTING THINGS OUT.

SIGNING OFF TILL AFTER INAUGURATION OF THE 6th PRESIDENT.
MAY THE BLESS THE GREAT NATION OF ZAMBIA!
