The governing party, the Patriotic Front (PF) members in Eastern Province have continued to attack each other even during the day of the Provincial Conference which is being presided over by Republican President Edgar Lungu who is also the party President.

According to a police report seen by Zambian Eye, Aspiring Provincial Youth Chairman Emmanuel Jay Banda has sustained swollen fingers and hand after been attacked by the other faction.

There has been factions in the runner up to the Conference with one faction in support of the incumbent acting PF Provincial Chairman Andrew Lubusha whilst the other is with the Banda led faction.

And Banda has accused Lubusha of being behind the attack.

In a press release by Banda, Lubusha and his supporters attacked Banda few hours before the Intra-party Elections.

He was rushed to Chipata General Hospital where his hand was bandaged and later discharged.

Banda defied all odds and went straight to the Provincial conference with a bandaged hand.
