United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) leader Charles Chanda has threatened to sue the Electoral Commission of Zambia(ECZ) if it cancels the by-election in Sesheke slated for February 12, 2019 due to violence.

Chanda says canceling the poll would be unfair to other political parties when the ones causing the violence are the PF and UPND.

He also accuses the commission of abrogating the electoral code of conduct.

“I wish to respond to the carelessness of ECZ in handling elections.

“The situation in Sesheke unfortunately is still showing us that we have ECZ that has no muscles.

“ECZ has the electoral code of conduct which gives them power to suspend political parties when they violate it.”

“It is very clear that UPND and PF are involved in violence,” Chanda said.

He further stated that his party is not involved in any form of violence.

And Chanda has advised the ECZ to suspend PF and UPND from participating in Sesheke by-election causing violence in the area.
