UPND to launch it’s rallies on Sunday

Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) will this Sunday launch its countrywide rallies in Lusaka.

The UPND announced in a statement to Zambian Eye, Thursday, June 5, 2014 that its planned rally in Mandevu on June 8 will mark the beginning rallies suspended due to rains.

“The rally take place as scheduled. As we indicated in our statement a week ago, this is a continuation of the programme we had suspended in the rainy season,” stated Kuchunga Simusamba, the party’s Deputy General Secretary.

Simusamba says the rally will be held at Mutambe Grounds in Mandevu starting at 1pm CAT.

“We are covering issues such as inflation which is hitting every family hard. The major drivers of this rise is cost of living are high fuel prices, high electricity tariffs, removal of subsidies on Maize and Fuel and generally bad economic managed coupled with lack of employment,” he said.

He said UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema will address the rally with top party officials.

  1. This is a good move. I just hope the PF police will not be sent to disrupt the rally. We shall be there in numbers.

  2. HH and UPND please we need real change for the betterment of our country. HH is a performer let us not dissappoint him. Vote for HH and UPND all time every time anytime hwenever political elections will be called by electro commission of Zambia. Come one come all and listen to our government in waiting.

  4. Rupial Banda and chanda chimba fortold about the kind of Government we were ushering into power. but God allowed it to happen as he did to the children of lsreal so l urge HH not to fall into the same dich listen to every one person then everluate and you find good direction. God bless you.

Yes yes yes,mr president this time around we are not going to look at where you come from,you and you alone mr HH can change the direction of this nation for the better.both who voted for pf and those who did not are buying the dollar,meal meal,electricity at an exorbitant price and so we are all affected. Viva HH and viva upnd.

  7. With or without Politicians, everyone can live a better life as long as one develop a culture of hardwork. Fellow zambians, lets not focus our minds on these politicians. They are all the same. Remember, Development begins from an individual,family….etc!

  8. @ Hamatimbula. That kind of reasoning is retrogressive. Can you compare where Levy left the economy of this nation and where we re now? Mind you govt is the major driver of any meaningful economic devt. Can you compare the economy of Botswana and ours? Be realistic boss.

  9. Zambians realise they were duped. Rally no Rally PF as a party has lost it. How, failed to fulfil their promises.Of utmost lmportance ls the draft constitution.This would have their weap n challanged zambians that they given us a document to protect our lnterests.But ALAS.
