UPND to go ahead with rally, reports Kamba to the Police

The opposition UPND says it has reported PF Lusaka province Youth Chairperson Kennedy Kamba to the Police for threatening violence.

Kamba on Friday warned that if the Police allowed the UPND to hold a rally in Kanyama, Lusaka, there was going to be bloodshed.

But the UPND has vowed that the party shall go ahead with it’s rally scheduled for this weekend and that it has reported Kamba to the Police.

Below is the press statement:

We wish to inform the nation that we have this morning officially reported PF Lusaka Province Youth Chairperson Kennedy Kamba for proposing and threatening violence.

As a party that believes in peace and democracy, we call on the Police to arrest Mr Kamba with immediate effect as he is a danger to our country.

It is individuals like him, (Kamba) who are making the Police issue security alerts to even foreign visitors and investors that our capital city is unstable in terms of security.

And so, we expect the Police to act decisively and cage Mr Kamba because failure to do so will be proof enough that the service is on autopilot and being run by PF cadres.

We also want to remind our people in Lusaka that our rally is non negotiable and we are going ahead to hold it on 2nd April, 2017.

Citizens may wish to know that it is our right to hold a rally at any time as we all enjoy the freedom of assembly and association, this is as enshrined in the constitution.

As a party we do recognize the constitution of the republic and this why we have reported to the police that Kennedy Kamba be arrested, and it is the same constitution which guides us not to recognize illegitimacy.

Therefore, should violence arise on that day, Zambians must hold the Police and PF cadres like Kennedy Kamba accountable as they have already shown that they will come and fight us.

  1. Let’s see if the PF militia (Zambia Police) will arrest and kill Kamba as they did to the Tonga ZAF officer.

  2. The problem we have in Zambia is that PF cadres are seen angels but yet in reality they are the one who are likely to be this country on fire. PF cadres are promoting tribalism. If we are not careful will land this country in trouble and will be like South Sudan and Somali. Kamba did not talk like is a christian and mature.

  3. Kekekeke. Reporting to the police whom they themselves have disobeyed. Funny thinking of UPND.

UPND must grow up. You can’t Disrespect the police by blagging that you will go against their advice and still ask them to do something for you? It beats intellectual logic.

Those who have nothing to do, who enjoy tear gasses and who are suicidal are welcome to attend the rally. I will watch on TV. it is safe that way.

  6. Zambia needs to shed and shade blood and light respectively to return to normality . We can not allow thugs like Kamba, max from kafue , and kaiza zulu capture our country with impunity under our watch. I can’t believe that Ruphia Banda is supervising this evil deed.
