UPND official feared dead

A UPND official lies unconscious after being hit in the head with a plank

A UPND official in Mongu has been seriously injured after he was hit with a plank by a PF cadre identified as Imbwae Imasiku. This happened in the full view of police.

Unconfirmed reports circulating around social media indicate that the yet to be named official has died.

Trouble seems to have started after police and PF cadres tried to block UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema from leaving Mongu airport because Interim President Guy Scott was flying into Mongu.

UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema immediately gave a statement to the press on the scene, condemning the action of the PF thugs and calling for the arrest of the perpetrator.

  5. Hope the murderer is arrested otherwise I see this getting ugly. The relative of the deceased especially if the perpetrator is a resident of Mongu. The people that actually want to be President and who shall benefit materially go unscratched.

  7. This level of violence is unacceptable. PF must contain its supporters, lest the country becomes ungovernable. Law enforcement officers must act sternly before it’s too late. I am so afraid that at this rate, Zambia might go up in flames. Where has political tolerance gone? Zambia prided itself as a peaceful and friendly nations, warm even to foreigners. What I see now is shocking. In a way, it points to many years of bad leadership, lack of national philosophy and confidence in a nation. We need to change that.

  8. Pf dont kill each other. Edgar is winning! PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY DECIDED! This is one election in which people will learn that advertising does not amount to winning! People have tested or sampled LUNGU’s leadership and they really want him. Call him names it does not matter. Call him a sick person, chakolwa visionless, whatever. That will not change their minds it is settled. Lungu is the next presido. We know all this are marketing tactics to make people change their mind. A spade is a spade. A satanist is a satanist, a thief is a thief, whether rich or poor. A christian is a christian no one can pretend to be what they are not for one month. All SDA will agree that Mr HH is not a staunch member of that church. The truth will set us free any way. And remember GOD has the final say. if HH is a true christian as he says let God be the j ifhe did not take advantage of privatisation let GOD BE THE JUDGE. If he is winning again let GOD be the judge. No need to fight. JEHOVAH IS IN CONTROL. Remember only GOD can change the economy of ZAMBIA STOP WORSHIPING PEOPLE who also need to ascend to presidence to gain the some wealth.

  10. This is very touching…HH in Barotseland:

The Induna said the mistake of voting for PF and their candidate in the 2011 general elections was a good lesson to the people of Nalolo. ‘It is also a blessing to you as it has opened people’s eyes. People want a farmer, happy with your free education policy. I give you all my blessings, be courageous. Go everywhere, even when they don’t welcome you forge ahead. Winners don’t quit, quitters don’t win.

HH my president..you have won a lot of hearts! Reasonable Zambians don’t want these thugs to continue!
