Tragic things continue to happen in the once peaceful country – Zambia, the recent being today when the Zambia National Service (State Security wing) Officers shot dead two citizens after they refused to be forced off the land they claims as theirs.

The slain are Bright Singogo and Phumulo Lungwagwa while another victim Derek Nyoni was severely injured during the fracas. He is currently fighting his life from bullet wounds at Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital in Lusaka.

Officers from ZNS stormed Kampasa area in Chongwe District where they demolished the structures and forced the residents out.

Residents have complained and asked President Michael Sata to urgently look into the matter and ensure that the officers who shot innocent residents are brought to book.

The residents wept while their house properties were scattered following the eviction.

This comes barely a day after a Cop in Kitwe on the Copperbelt province shot a pedestrian during a commotion as residents jostled to buy tickets for the Zambia, Sudan game.

The Zambia Police has since announced that it will not allow its Officers to carry live bullets anyhow.
