Turkey courts FAZ partnership

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has attracted the interest of another European powerhouse in Turkey that has requested for a Memorandum of Understanding between the two associations.

According to the Zambian Mission in Ankara Turkish Football Federation (TFF) General Secretary Kadir Kardas has written to the ambassador requesting collaboration with FAZ.

The Zambian Mission reports that Kardas said in a letter dated April 1, 2019 addressed to Zambia’s ambassador to Turkey Joseph Chilengi, that the association believes that football is a great tool for developing relations between countries.

“It would be a pleasure for us to discuss the possibility of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Football Association of Zambia,” Kardas is quoted by the Embassy publication Weekly Dispatch.

And Zambian ambassador to Turkey Joseph Chilengi said Zambia appreciates the remarkable progress that TFF has made in the development of football which has placed the Turkish Super League among the best not only in the Union for European Football Associations but also FIFA.

FAZ president Andrew Kamanga has been hunting for technical support across the globe with his recent stop in Croatia and Serbia attracting support toward youth coaches and infrastructural development.

Kamanga said the Turkish collaboration is going to be anchored on referees, coaching and administrative support.
