Tshisekedi to officiate at this year’s trade fair

Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) President Felix Tshisekedi is expected in Country over the weekend to officiate at the Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) which runs from June 26 to July 2, 2019.

According  to the official program realesed to the Media by cabinet office,  President Tshisekedi is expected in the country Today, Thursday June 27. The DRC leader will spend two days in Zambia accompanied by his wife and senior DRC officials. He is expected  to officiate at this year’s 55th  ZITF in Ndola this Friday.

President Tshisekedi, who is making his maiden official visit to Zambia since assuming the DRC Presidency is expected to land at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport this morning and will later lay wreaths at the Presidential burial site in the afternoon.

President Tshisekedi will then hold talks at State House with President Edgar Lungu and later pay courtesy call on First President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda.

In the evening, President Lungu will host a state banquet for the visiting head of state.

President Tshisekedi will on Friday leave for the Copperbelt to officially open the Zambia International Trade Fair in Ndola.

Meanwhile, the Zambian International Trade Fair Management have unveiled the theme for this year’s show as ‘Inclusive growth through Entrepreneurship’.

Management has since urged exhibitors who want to get stands to hurry and book before every stand is taken up. 

The show hosts say the number of exhibitors has drastically reduced in comparison to last year, but that they are optimistic the show will reach its peak when it begins running. A ZITF management official who spoke on condition of anonymity said this year’s show has also recorded some exhibitors who withdrew from getting stands after initially booking.
