A Tribunal set-up to probe Tourism and Arts Minister Sylvia Masebo has been sworn.

Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda swore in the members of the Tribunal in Lusaka on Friday, February 14, 2014. She urged the three man Tribunal to maintain impartiality in their task.

The Tribunal is headed by Supreme Court Judge Rodah Kaoma with Judges Ernest Mukula Mutiyo and Chalwe Muchenga as members.

The Tribunal will  investigate Ms. Masebo for alleged abuse of authority of office in the operations of Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA).

This follows a petition to Acting Chief Justice by former Minister of Tourism and Environment under Frederick Chiluba Administration, William Harrington to constitute a tribunal to probe the Tourism Minister.

Mr. Harrington has asked that the Tribunal investigate reports by media alleging  that Ms Masebo was abusing her authority as Minister of Tourism by interfering in the hunting concession licence tender process at ZAWA.
