Traveling Chipata to Lundazi

A major disaster occured 30 hours ago when a fourty year old bridge was washed away on Chipata / Lundazi road. Until further notice drivers should use the following route:-

When you go past Lumezi from Chipata, at Zumwanda you turn left and head for Chitungulu/Kazembe.

At the Kazembe junction you turn right onto Mpamba road. That will get you to Lundazi. ZNS/RDA will start making improvements to that road/by-pass during this week.

Meantime a long enough bailey bridge has been located in Choma and logistical operations will be instigated soonest for three low bed trucks to transport the bridge to Lundazi arriving before end of this week.

Engineers should fix it in place within a week of receipt at Lundazi.
