Top Zambian referee to officiate FIFA World Cup encounter

Celebrated Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe will be the center man for the FIFA World Cup encounter involving Belgium and Canada.

The match will be played today Wednesday November 23, 2022, kick off at 9PM CAT.

Sikazwe is making his second appearance at the World football extravaganza.

At 2018 World Cup in Russia, Sikazwe took charge of match involving Belgium and Panama.

Early this year, Sikazwe was at the centre of attraction for the wrong reason during Africa Cup of Nations following his controversial decisions in the game between Mali and Tunisia.

Sikazwe blew for full-time final twice as Mali beat Tunisia 1-0 in Group F.

The Zambian referee blew his full-time whistle with five minutes remaining, before checking his timings and continuing the game.

He then signalled the end of the match in the 90th minute before adding on any additional time for stoppages.
