Tonse Alliance set to elect Presidential candidate, Tembo

A grouping of opposition parties, Tonse Alliance has announced that it will on November 29, 2025 elect a presidential candidate to stand on its ticket for the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking during a press briefing Alliance spokesperson Sean Tembo said interested individuals must pay K300,000 as nomination fee.

He added that any Zambian citizen who shall be a member of Tonse Alliance Council of Leaders as of October 31, 2025 will be eligible to contest the alliance’s presidency.

Talking about the current squabbles rocking the Alliance, said all activities will proceed as planned even without reconciliation talks between the “fighting parties” being finalised.
