The opposition grouping Tonse Alliance has given Government 14 days ultimatum in which to withdraw the Constitution amendments Bill number 7 of 2025 saying it does not mean well saying it is intended to rig the 2026 elections.
Zambia Must Prosper (ZMP) president Kelvin Bwalya Fube (KBF) who is part of the alliance announced the decision during a press briefing today. Fube said he had since written to Attorney General informing him in detail about the position.
Fube who was part of the UPND Alliance that ushered Hakainde Hichilema to government in 2021 says he (Hichilema) wants to use the law to maintain his hold to power. He says Hichilema has realised that there is nothing he has done to warrant his re-election.
Fube was speaking this morning in Lusaka when he addressed the press. The full address can be watched HERE. at 1:30pm CAT.
