Zambia’s Ambassador to Germany Anthony Mukwita has disclosed that Amatheon Agri and the German Arbetheir-Samariter Bund (ASB) donated an ambulance to Kaindu health center in Mumbwa district in Central province.

In a statement released yesterday, Mukwita said the donation has come at the right time, and that it will go a long way in helping the community as well as speeding up the acquiring of medical supplies.

“The donation is expected to contribute to the avoidance of needless deaths that sometimes arise from the failure to get patients to health facilities where they could get immediate medical attention,” He said.

The Ambassador also disclosed that over US$15 million dollars was investment by Amatheon Agri in the agriculture sector some time back and this has seen about 600 local people getting employment.

He said the two organisations did not only donate an ambulance, but are also investmenting heavily in the country’s health and agricultural sectors which have seen over hundreds farmers supported through an out-grower scheme in Mumbwa district.

He added that ASB has been working to improve health infrastructure in the same district.
