Thuggery Among The Youth

As you are aware I was robbed recently. Whilst at the police when I was reporting my case, something really peculiar caught my attention. There was a mother there who was bailing out her son who apparently was in some sort of mess. The question that she asked is what caught my attention: “where did I go wrong?”

Discipline is supposed to start from the time a child is born. Right when the child is still in its infancy, parents must begin to instill discipline. See, it’s a sad thing to see a child in a diaper, the child has pissed on him or herself or has shit in the diaper and ba nyina is slow to remove diaper and soon the child is playing on the couch, na diaper ya shiki, a couch were you expect people to seat on soon. See, in psychology there is what is called the Anal or phallic stage; this is a very important stage in the mental and physical development of a child. Psychologists say the anus of a child should be clean all the time if the child is to be smart throughout life (some of the smart men and women you know have shinny anuses). See a child must be given proper discipline. I hate it when I see mothers that let their kids run wild. Take for example a mother feeding her child porridge, after the porridge is finished, instead of getting the plate and washing it, the mother allows the child to turn the plate into a drum set and starts beating it with the spoon kwati ma drums yaku pente, ati “ati iyo mulekeni alalila”. Get that plate, alatalala! What you do not know is that by allowing the kid to have that plate and vandalize it, you are unconsciously breeding a rebel, what you are telling that kid is that it is ok to rebel against authority, it is fine to have its way at all costs. See discipline starts from earliest of times, the spare the rod spoil the kid is a very real and true principle.

Some people grow up knowing nothing from their homes, by grade 5 the child can’t wash for itself, can’t cook akabwali, can’t clean, all it knows is just watching tv, eating and shiting and whipping its ass!!! Years later in marriage it’s you they will be insulting when you child performs like an idiot in marriage, it is you who will be bailing your kids daily from jail cell when they become delinquents. We are in trouble as a nation, the youth are the future leaders of tomorrow, nomba future leader isn’t sober, chipuba, bachakolwa nama ule. There are lots of irresponsible and delinquent lazy youth. In boarding schools and even university, we had characters who could not bath for a week, one week umuntu anwa fye kwati chikolopo. No wonder we have no entrepreneurs, no visionaries, all people know is to drink and the most they can do is get a job and settle for a salary. We need a different generation, a Joshua generation that can challenge our elders, that can correct the wrongs of abakulu. We complain of old recycled politicians but tell me, with this behavior can we take over?? If a person can’t wipe his ass well umulandu wabuchakolwa, what leadership are we talking about?? It starts from homes, the bible says TRAIN A CHILD IN THE MANNER HE IS TO BE AND WHEN HE GROWS HE SHALL NOT DEPART FROM HIS TEACHING, in short CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME…

Question is, are today’s parents training their children? Do most parents have full control of their house or its auto pilot??? Pishenimo Pen
