Thieves broke into church, steals properties

Two people armed with unknown type of firearms broke into a Church in Lusaka’s Barlastone area and stole Church properties valued at K45, 000.

According to police, the incident occurred on January 15, 2023 between 02:00 hours and 04:00 hours at Generation of Faith Restoration Ministries Church located in Barlastone area.

Among the items stolen were a Yamaha keyboard, a Hybrid mixer, an Amplifier, one HP Central Processing Unit, a laptop, a Generator and five cellular phones.

Police Deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale says suspects also attacked and seriously injured three people who work as caretakers at the same Church.

Mwale said the injured victims have been identified as Jimmy Mukonkani aged 28, Henry Musara aged 30 and Emilio Kalala aged 32. All sustained head injuries as stones are alleged to have been used in the act.

He said the victims were rushed to the hospital where two were treated and discharged while Emilio Kalala is still admitted.

“It is alleged that the suspects were using two motor vehicles, a light truck and a Toyota Allion silver in colour.

Investigations into the matter have been instituted,” Mwale said.
