President Lungu has told the people of Northern province to be careful of politicians wanting to rule the country saying they will sell the country.

In reference to opposition UPND president Hakainde Hichilema who said government had sold ZAFFICO to Chinese and that he will reverse the sale once he is president, President Lungu said Zambians must be care some politicians who he said are wolves in sheep skin.

“Now they want to be President, I warn you, they will sale the country and you yourselves,” President Lungu said in Kasama noting that individuals in the ‘scandalous’ sale during the MMD regime have continued to perpetrate lies about the PF when they themselves are rich because of taking advantage of Zambians.

“You know them, they were in the forefront hired to sale companies and they sold them to themselves at cheap prices and they became shareholders and now they claim and boast to be rich,” President Lungu said.

“Now they want to be President… I just want to warn you… CAREFUL”

President Lungu reassured the nation that ZAFFICO had not been sold but was instead on the right trajectory as the company looks to grow bigger with addition of cashew nut plantations.

Giving an anecdote President Lungu recalled how in Kitwe he witnessed pick pockets steal money from innocent shoppers but turn and shout thief to drive away attention from themselves.

“Thieves who stole when MMD came to power are the ones in the forefront… I am not saying there is no corruption it is existing but we are fighting it,” he said.

He urged Zambians to be patriotic and listen to both sides before taking a position.
