The mood is not good for the Patriotic Front in Mongu following the arrest of the three Linyungadambo Leaders, reports Zambian Eye Correspondent based in Mongu, Western province.

Zambian Eye Correspondent in Mongu says people are annoyed with the PF government.

“They feel being used in 2011 that after then PF presidential candidate Michael Sata promised to honor the Barotseland Agreement turned ‘180’ degrees and instead he started arresting Activists,” explains our Correspondent.

Unless they ferry people from outside otherwise the situation on the ground is not good for PF, our Mongu Correspondent says.

But source close to Edgar Lungu and Barotse Royal Establishment have told Zambian Eye that Lungu enjoys a good relationship with the Litunga, the King of the Lozi people.

“The Litunga is the one who gave him the now famous ‘walking stick’ which is given to special people,” the source said.

It however remains to be seen if the Litunga can prevail to his subject to support the PF in this crucial Presidential election. Lungu will have alot to prove that the people of this region can trust him.

Lungu is expected to pay a courtesy call on the Litunga immediately he arrives in Mongu this morning. He will thereafter appear for a radio interview meet Church leaders before addressing a rally at 2pm CAT.

He is planning to woo the support from Western province by promissing to appoint people from this region to high position in government.
