The grave is waiting, are you ready?

(ECCLESIASTES 9:5, 3:1-3, HEBREWS 9:27)
There lays one thing under the earth that neither practices racism nor favouritism. Man’s riches, achievements or tittles of honor have no bearing on it. It can’t be bribed or postponed and when it strikes, tears, sorrows and pain are it results. DEATH IS INDEED A MYSTERY!!
Amidst the sorrows and grief of our hearts, God always seeks to speak to us with words of comfort and hope while reminding us that we all have one common destiny which is the grave.
Although unseen to our physical eyes, there is an empty grave waiting for our caskets in which our corpse will lay unconsciously. The wise and foolish, the poor and rich, the famous and inferior, the mighty and weak all have but one destination alike- THE GRAVE!!
With this in mind the wise man Solomon exclaimed, “Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. What profit hath a man of all his labor which he taketh under the sun? (Eccle 1:2-3, read also 12-14) ”
Yes indeed friends the world, its fame, riches, honor and achievements are all vanity because they are bound to disappoint us. They are vanity because they cannot save us; we will all leave them on this earth as we go the lonely unconscious path to the grave.
We all have an appointment with death, “For its appointed unto men once to die and after this the judgement. (Hebrews 9:27) Has we mourn let’s remember that our friends appointment has come and they have hearkened to that call but much more that we too will one day hearken to the call for this appointment!!
As men and women will gather at our funeral houses and remember us and refrain from saying any bad thing we did while picking on the good things only. As our work mates will praise us for our hardwork while family members will mourn us as bread winners and loving people, God will also take us through a judgement review our works on earth.
Yes we all have the grave as our destination while alive on earth, but thank God he his two destination beyond our graves after the judgement – ETERNAL DEATH AND ERTERNAL LIFE!! Men may praise us on earth and look at the good works we did in their sight but can’t set our destiny beyond the grave; their praises can’t change Gods mind to serve us from perdition.
As you mourn, remember that soon people will also gather to mourn you because the grave is waiting for you. You have life today because God is still pleading with you in his quest to serve you but soon he will say enough is enough if you harden your heart and refuse his serving grace through the death of his son Jesus Christ.
Dear friend, Christ was offered for our sins so that through him we all may have life eternal (Hebrews 9:28, John 3:16)!! It’s not time to play around with sin but rather time to seek the Lord while he may be found (Isaiah 55:6) so that we may answer the call of our appointment for death with the hope of eternal life.
