Chipolopolo coach Honour Janza says the Zambia national soccer team has a lot of potential that should be harnessed for the future, reports faz.com.
Speaking to press men after his team’s elimination from the 2015 Afcon finals, Janza said while it was painful for Chipolopolo to go out at this stage it is important to note that the young lads that came to the finals have learnt something.
“Yes it is sad but let us be positive that the future looks bright for our team, the young boys we came with here will be a force in African football in the next two to three years” he emphasised.
And Chipolopolo vice team captain Kennedy Mweene says he still has a lot of football in him and is not thinking about retiring but helping the team in future assignments. Mweene says he has experience that he can share with the young players that have come to join Chipolopolo.
Thr veteran and Africa cup winning keeper has also paid tribute to the young lads in the team.
“Let us encourage them and make them good players.I am sure in the next few years they will utilise what they have learnt.” he added.
Meanwhile, FAZ President Kalusha Bwalya has challenged the team not to throw away what they have leanrt at this competition but instead, keep their experiences and utilise them for future tournaments.
And skipper of the side Rainford Kalaba was voted man of the match.
Zambia was this evening eliminated from the ongoing Afcon finals after drawing nil all with Cape Verde. Tunisia and Congo DR have advanced to the last eight.
