Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Mbabala Member of Parliament Ephraim Belemu has ordered PF officials in Southern province to help push President Michael Sata to release the draft constitution to the people of Zambia, reports our Correspondent.

Belemu said its sad that some leaders of the ruling party are praising the contents of the constitution while the top authorities are hiding the document. He said PF should first look at the pride of the people who elected them unlike hiding the most important document aimed at serving peoples’ lives.

He said this in response to Southern province PF political secretary Leonard Siachona who told Choma Council chamber on Thursday March 20, 2014  that the incoming constitution has a provision that allows electorates to elect the mayor of the district rather than choosing within the councilors.

Belemu said if Siachona and other PF leaders feel the constitution is good for the people of Zambia then it will be prudent for them to advise President Sata on the need to enact a new constitution.

Meanwhile the  lawmaker hopes to complete 20 projects in his constituency of which one of them is the upgrading of Manguza basic school to a secondary level this year.He said its a pity government delayed the distribution of CDF last year and hopes this year’s allocation will be disbursed in time.
