Political commentator Chilufya Tayali has now accused Agriculture Minister Given Lubinda of being responsible on the maize grain shortage in the country, reports Zambian Eye Correspondent.

Tayali who heads an NGO he calls Zambian Voice has since challenged Lubinda to explain the maize shortage ongoing in the country.

He said the hiccups in the transportation of maize was as a result of poor management by Lubinda.

Tayali said there was no way maize can be exported without the Minister knowing.

“Mr Lubinda is responsible for what is going on,” Tayali charged. “Its ironic for the minister not to understand how people can ferry maize outside without his knowledge.”

Tayali was speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka this morning.

    • It is PF,Lungu and Lubinda in that order. Reason PF party policy on agriculture was wrong, Lungu was pre-occupied with fighting HH insted of listening to his counsel on the matter. Lubinda was follwing his boss blindly. HH and UPND were always right on this matter. Solution remove PF from government…the rest is history

    • Lubinda was once part of the grey matter of UPND. Today because he works for this evil and clueless PF party, his thinking and actions are all weird. You cant understand him anymore. He cant even perform as agriculture minister which is not very difficult as one cannot go wrong with producing food. There’s just something terribly wrong with PF. People who have left PF are again thinking properly. Those that were thinking properly in UPND and have gone to PF, they now think upside down. have you heard how Kapita now thinks? Upside down. No logic. Just watch and hear what Shakafuswa will say next time. It will be nonsense I can predict as today he is silent as he being rewired to think upside down.

    • Surely, as Minister he ought to have know that maize was being smuggled. It seems in fact HH was well informed about this. This scandal rests squarely on the Minister’s door. Period!

I always thought Lubinda was one of the more enlightened politicians in Zambia.

And only the Government has the tools to stop the smuggling if that’s the cause for the depletion of maize stocks.

  8. Only dull people can attack HH on maize issue. He is very innocent. In fact if poor farmer had listened to him, this problem would not have been there. You were busy politicking his advise.
