Police have arrested the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of a Chinese couple which occurred in Mumbwa yesterday.

Police chief Kakoma Kanganja confirmed the arrest today and named the suspect as 26-year-old Kenneth Figo (seen in the video) of Katala Village in Mumbwa.

In a brief statement, Kanganja disclosed that the suspect was apprehended from his hiding place in Lusaka’s Barlastone Park area.

He further revealed that the suspect had worked for the couple as a salesman.

And Kanganja has expressed displeasure at the leaking of the CCTV footage in the same matter which has gone viral, saying it had the potential to jeopardize investigations.

Jinrong Yon, 53, and his wife Zuming Hu, 49, were hacked to death at Sunshare in Mumbwa District in the early hours of yesterday.

Video footage from CCTV showing the killer attacking the Chinese nationals with a machete in a shop has gone viral.
