The Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue-ZCID Board of Trustees has called on the Commonwealth to refrain from making unilateral decision when it comes to making changes to the dialogue process.

In a communiqué issued by the centre and signed by all the stakeholders including the PF and the UPND after a board meeting held on the 13th,March 2018,  the Centre said the Commonwealth should at all times honour previously agreed approach or consult stakeholders before making any changes.
The stakeholders also agreed that representatives of the Centre should be the ones to feature prominently in the proposed steering committee.
“We will support the current approach as proposed in so far as ZCID plays a prominent role in convening, facilitating and undertaking the dialogue process.
As key stakeholders in the dialogue process ZCID must and should be consulted at all times before any changes to the previously agreed approach towards the dialogue process- put simply going forward, the Commonwealth must refrain from making unilateral decisions or failing to honour previously agreed positions with regard to the dialogue process,” reads the communiqué in part.
Stakeholders also demanded that the process be inclusive and involve all political parties and other stakeholders as opposed to just involving the PF and UPND.
“The proposed dialogue and all inclusive process I evolving all political parties and other key stakeholders must not be an exclusive activity involving PF and UPND only,” further reads the communiqué.
The Communiqué was signed by representatives of PF, UPND, MMD, FDD and PeP.

  1. I do agree with involving all polical parties in talks called dialogue for politicians , just taking only two parties doesnt solve any of their problems as politicians .
Let all politicians meet and iron out what could be their point of interest in zambian politics , zambia is multiparty nation we would like them all to exist as equal as they are there for the same purpose.

  3. It is only the UPND that has the bone to chew with pf, not the off shoots of pf so why involve them. They might as well join the pf side. ZCID you now waking up because the Common Wealth has exposed your ineptitude or perhaps your political bias , you are of no relevance to Zambia just like edwin sakala the brother to the plunderer.
