Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Mazabuka Central MP and party Chairman for Elections Garry Nkombo has advised the National Dialogue Forum (NDF) Chairman Muyunda Mwanalushi to steer clear of politics.

According to the statement by the UPND media, Nkombo has asked Professor Mwanalushi not to allow himself to be soiled by PF politics as he risks denting his highly acclaimed status built overtime.

Professor Mwanalushi, a respectable academician was appointed by President Edgar Lungu to chair a controversial NDF and his appointment was rarified unanimously by the Forum.

Nkombo was reacting to Professor Mwanalushi’s sentiments that all lawmakers that shunned the NDF proceedings will be prosecuted.

Nkombo said the foundation of the NDF act is very specific on who should chair the forum rendering Professor Mwanalushi an illegal chairman who is issuing illegal threats.

Nkombo said together with his colleagues, are ready to meet the NDF and its surrogates at any point as their decision not to attend the forum was within the perimeters of the law and will not be moved by a professor aiming at making politically induced threats.

“Let me remind the Professor that in the first place, the foundation of that law does not allow him to be in that chair. I have always argued that the foundation of that law is the Siavonga resolution which resolved that the three church mother bodies were to be in that seat. This ultimately means that the man is in that seat illegally. His threats have no legs and am actually offering myself to be the first one to be prosecuted, and see if the Professor is indeed a Professor” said the Mazabuka lawmaker.

He said Professional Mwanalushi must stay out of politics as he was not a politician but a dignified academia who should maintain his lane by doing his illegal job at the NDF and leave the politicians alone to sort each other out politically.
