The State has dropped the case in the Livingstone Magistrate Court involving opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema.
The case was dropped Tuesday morning, February 11, 2014 when it came up for trial. The Prosecution team informed the Court that they had received instructions from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) office to discontinue the matter.
This is the matter where HH was being tried for allegedly proposing violence when he featured on a Livingstone Radio station during a by-election last year.
HH was arrested and detained for two days before he was released on bail while a number of UPND MPs were detained for about 10 days.
