With just over a month to go before the fifth edition of the annual Stanbic Music Festival, ticket sales are at an all-time high.

All 200 Golden Circle Tickets are already sold out, leaving only a few VIP and standard tickets. But music-lovers can still win a free ticket, thanks to Stanbic Bank’s cool competitions.

This year’s festival – set to be held on October 5-6 – will be headlined by US-based R&B superstars Brian McKnight and Joe Thomas.

Joe and Brian will share the stage with local artists including Zed Hip Hop Icon Chef 187, AfroPop rising star Kiki, the queen of Zambian R&B Salma Sky, gospel sensation Esther Chungu and Zambian song bird Wezi.

McKnight is a 16-time Grammy nominated singer, songwriter, music producer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. He is known for several timeless hits including Back at oneAnytimeWin, and Love Is.

Joe Thomas is an accomplished singer, songwriter and record producer whose career spans two decades. The seven-times Grammy Award-nominated artist is the talent behind hits like All That I Am, I Wanna Know, and I Believe in You.

Stanbic is giving people the chance to win free tickets to the event – the country’s largest music event – via a ‘Sing and Win’ and “Strike a Pose” competition on the Stanbic Music Festival Face Book page, ‘Swipe and Win’ promotion in a number of stores countrywide and the “Anakazi words to Joe/Brian” competition on the Anakazi Banking Facebook page.

Under the ‘Sing and Win’ competition, fans can win a free ticket to the concert by recording themselves singing a song by Brian McKnight or Joe Thomas in a one-minute video clip, and uploading it to the Stanbic Music Festival Facebook page.

The ‘Swipe and Win’ promotion allows shoppers the chance to win free tickets when they pay their bills using a Stanbic card at participating outlets.

The “Strike a Pose” promotion allows fans to show us how excited they will be when the stage is open. Details of both competitions are available on the Stanbic Music Festival Facebook page at
The “Anakazi words to Joe/Brian” competition is for all Anakazi Banking fans out there. All the ladies need to do is send imagine what they would say to Joe of Brian if they were to ever meet them. Details of both competitions are available on the Stanbic Music Festival Facebook page at

Stanbic Bank Zambia’s Head of Public Relations, Chanda Katongo, says:  “There are a limited number of tickets available and they are rapidly running out. We’d like to encourage those yet to buy tickets to get them now – before it’s too late.”

Stanbic Music Festival standard tickets are K500, while VIP tickets are K1,500. Tickets are available from Computicket and selected Stanbic Bank branches.
